Miami Waterfront Apartment with Eclectic Interior Design
Brief
Located in North Bay Village, this 1,884 sqft waterfront apartment was designed for a well-traveled client — a former chef and restaurateur whose lifestyle and personality are reflected in every corner. With a deep appreciation for hosting, cooking, and culture, the client wanted a home that could serve as both a personal sanctuary and a social stage. The design brief called for a warm, open-plan layout with distinct character, blending global influences from Brazil, Italy, Spain, New York, and Miami.

Concept
The interior design embraces an eclectic mix of styles, combining modern lines, classical references, and Asian-inspired pieces. Much like his former restaurant — the beloved Spiga in South Beach — the apartment reveals layers of personal history and cultural memory. Textures, finishes, and furniture were curated to evoke sophistication with soul, balancing organic warmth and contemporary clarity. The bold artwork, handcrafted elements, and carefully chosen accessories bring narrative and authenticity to the space.

Layout
The heart of the apartment is the open kitchen, positioned at the center of the living space. This intentional layout was developed to accommodate the client’s passion for cooking and entertaining — allowing him to remain fully engaged with guests while preparing meals. The living room was designed to face the kitchen directly, creating a continuous flow of conversation, connection, and comfort. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors frame panoramic views of Biscayne Bay, while the indoor-outdoor integration extends to a modern balcony dining area — perfect for al fresco moments.
