Montessori Girl’s Bedroom Design
Brief
This 140 sqft Montessori-inspired bedroom in Leblon, Rio de Janeiro, was completed in 2015 as a full interior design project for the first daughter of a young entrepreneurial couple. The goal was to create a timeless space focused on child development, autonomy, and emotional well-being — one that would grow with the child and remain relevant for years without requiring major changes.

Concept
The design vision centered around timeless modernity and tropical elegance. With soaring ceilings and expansive glass façades, the space was conceived to enhance natural light, ocean views, and the seamless connection between interior and exterior areas. The palette blends warm neutrals with organic textures to create a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere, true to the spirit of luxury Miami interiors.

Layout
This thoughtfully zoned bedroom includes:
– A playful house-shaped bed with trundle for future use or guests, framed by built-in book holders and cozy lighting.
– A nursing and storytime area with a comfortable armchair and pouf.
– Ample hidden storage and functional cabinetry that complements the playful decor.
– A custom dresser and changing table designed to match the thematic identity of the room.
– All accessories, bedding, and soft elements were carefully selected and color-coordinated to reinforce the whimsical atmosphere while supporting daily routines.

Challenge
The primary challenge was to design a cohesive and highly customized room that could be used long-term without losing its charm or functionality. The result is a signature interior design project in Leblon — timeless, creative, and entirely tailored to support a child’s emotional and physical development in a joyful, comforting setting.
