Concept

The design drew inspiration from the family’s love for travel and the arrival of their baby boy. Instead of choosing a typical nursery theme, the designer created a dream-like environment anchored by a custom world map mural. Animals, balloons, airplanes, and clouds were thoughtfully integrated to form a narrative of dreams and global exploration. The color palette is soft and timeless — light gray and white serve as the base, with delicate touches of blue, orange, and green on accessories, bedding, and the crib set. This creates a peaceful atmosphere that feels both magical and grounded in the family’s identity.

Layout

Every inch of this compact room was maximized to include all essential elements of a functional nursery:
– A round crib that transforms into a toddler bed for long-term use.
– A nursing and diapering station with a comfortable rocker, dresser, and pouf.
– An extra bed with built-in drawers for visitors or future use, maintaining visual balance and offering smart storage.
– Open shelving for books and decor items, and personalized accessories styled by the designer, including pillows, bedding, and the entire crib kit — all developed in the same cohesive color and thematic language.

Challenge

Due to the pandemic, all furniture and accessories had to be sourced online. The project demanded creativity, speed, and precision — with only 20 days of design development and a total execution time of two months. Despite the constraints, the result is a nursery that tells a story, supports daily routines, and reflects the emotional preparation for welcoming a new life.
