Montessori-Inspired Kid’s Bedroom
Morar Mais 2015, Rio de Janeiro
This beautiful Montessori-inspired kids’ bedroom (204 sq ft) was created by interior designer Nayara Macedo for the 2015 edition of Morar Mais Por Menos, one of Brazil’s most prestigious interior design exhibitions. The space was thoughtfully designed according to Montessori principles, encouraging independence, sensory development, and creative exploration.

Tailored furniture and imaginative design.
All the furniture and decor pieces were custom-designed by the architect and later produced by a specialized children’s furniture brand. The floor-level house-shaped bed creates a cozy nest while promoting accessibility. Built-in reading nooks, ground-level toy storage, and low-mounted mirrors turn the room into a child-centered universe.

Stimulating colors and tactile elements.
A cheerful color palette with blue, green, yellow, and gray tones fills the room with life. Cloud, balloon, and airplane motifs on the walls create a dreamy and adventurous atmosphere for the child.

Key features of the project:
• Montessori custom-designed furniture
• Low bed with playful house structure
• Circular built-in reading nook
• Themed pillows and rugs
• Interactive growth chart and chalkboard wall
